Cubic Pillar, Blocks, and Lines is a continuation of our exploration on
the nature of design. Stripped off any externally imposed aesthetical meaning, this collection embraces the basic geometric structure, hiding the functionality under the disguise of its form. Four lines diagonally crossing one another make up a two-dimensional cube. When added with another dimension, it gains volume. These simple structures of lines and curves assume the archetype of stillness and dynamics of objects in
space.
The cubic pillar is a closet that hides its doors on the side, and the square block on bars a table that camouflaged its drawers. Completed with the long curvy blocks as benches, this collection takes on a good sense of humor which is understated and self-expressive.
It is an experiment that explores the expressiveness of basic elements in bringing out the temperament and character of a work. The very abstractness offers the viewers of the work a doorway to his or her own imagination and poetry.
